DES MOINES, Iowa -- Congressman Dave Loebsack is sending out an endorsement, not for president -- but instead vice president.

Loebsack tells the Quad Cities Times, "Tom Vilsack has a lot of different skill sets, and I think he could bring a lot to the table in any number of offices. There are some folks speculating he might be a vice presidential candidate."

It wouldn't be the first time the former Iowa governor has ventured into presidential politics.

Vilsack ran for president in 2008. At that time his campaign was hurt by a lack of name recognition.

As U.S. Agriculture Secretary, he's much more well-known this time around.
