DES MOINES, Iowa -- The state’s unemployment rate dropped again in March.

According to numbers compiled by Iowa Workforce Development, the state’s unemployment rate for March was 4 percent. That’s a tenth of a percent drop from February’s 4.4 percent.

IWD Director Beth Townsend says, “While the state’s nonfarm employment expanded to an all-time high, the unemployment rate trended down to 4.0 percent, the third-straight drop to begin the year and a very positive trend.”

The national unemployment rate for March remained at 5.5 percent.
