DNA Evidence Helps Marshalltown Police Solve 2013 Crime

Marshalltown police utilized DNA evidence to help them solve a two-year-old crime.

A retired correctional officer spotted a wanted suspect inside a Menards earlier this week and tipped off police.

The suspect, 62-year-old Dennis Albert, was arrested and charged with breaking into the Moose Lodge and several cars in December of 2013.

During those investigations, police found DNA linking Albert to other thefts earlier that year.

Albert is now facing three counts of felony burglary and one aggravated misdemeanor
