LAKE CITY, Iowa — During the height of Sunday night’s severe weather, about 3,500 people were without power in Lake City and Rockwell City.

The workers eventually were able use temporary lines to get most of Rockwell City back online, and MidAmerican Energy says it hopes to have Lake City’s power fully restored by midnight.

About 150 MidAmerican workers are still trying to restore the electricity as of Monday evening.
