DAVENPORT, Iowa -- A Davenport teenager who was a victim of bullying got a very special birthday present, well wishes from strangers.

WQAD reports Rachel Peters says her 13-year-old son Damion is bullied and doesn't have many friends. So she wanted to make his birthday special by posting on a Facebook group called "Give it Away Quad Cities" - simply asking people to wish Damion happy birthday.

He received more than 100 messages and some people even stopped by to drop off gifts for Damion.

“I just wanted him to see, look you have people that love you don`t worry about what these other kids are saying about you,” said Rachel Peters.

"Give it Away Quad Cities" is a Facebook group that started two-months ago. It's a site where people pay it forward to others. The group has more than 450 members so far.
