New Lighting, HD Video Board Coming to Wells Fargo Arena

DES MOINES, Iowa – A series of upgrades are coming to Wells Fargo Arena, the Iowa Events Center announced Wednesday.

The operators of the Iowa Events Center, Global Spectrum, have announced that a number of improvements will be made to Wells Fargo Arena over the next few months. The purpose of the enhancements is to improve game production and upgrade fan experience.

The upgrades come as the arena celebrates is 10th Anniversary in July. The $2.5 million project will include several enhancements, including a new Musco lighting system, HD televisions in the councourse, and a Daktronics HD Center hung video board.

“Technology has evolved so much in the past 10 years that Wells Fargo Arena is ready for some significant upgrades to the fan experience,” said Global Spectrum’s Chris Connolly, General Manager of the Iowa Events Center. “We appreciate the Polk County Board of Supervisor’s assistance in getting these projects completed, which will enhance the experience for fans who attend events at Wells Fargo Arena while reducing our energy consumption.”

The first project will begin Sunday, May 17.
