GILBERT -  Gilbert high school Senior Thomas Pollard is one of the best long distance runners in the country.  This weekend Pollard will try to add two more state titles to his résumé in the 1600 and 3200.

Pollard set an all-time Iowa best last year in the 3200 in 8:50.

"I never could have imagined running that fast, " says Thomas.

Pollard finished 3rd last year in the 1600, but this year he's looking to go out on top in both events.

"It will be special, I've enjoyed representing Gilbert these last 4 years.  I'm definitely going to miss it," says Thomas.

Next year Pollard will run for Iowa State, where his father Jamie is the Athletics Director.
