JEFFERSON, Iowa - Officials have cancelled an Amber Alert after the children and suspect involved in the case were located at a Des Moines hotel early Monday morning.

Reed Day, 4, and Rheea Day, 2, were located in Des Moines early Monday. Police said the suspect, Allison Tucker, 21, of Jefferson, was with the children and has been taken into custody.

The alert was cancelled at 5:15 a.m. after Tucker and the children were found at Hotel Fort Des Moines in downtown Des Moines. Hotel employees said the suspect checked in shortly after midnight. The vehicle involved in the Amber Alert was parked in front of the hotel overnight and a security guard noticed the interior lights of the vehicle were on and informed hotel employees.

Investigators said Tucker had taken the children to Des Moines for the day on Sunday afternoon. The children were reported missing at 8:30 p.m. after the kids did not reach their destination. Officials issued an Amber Alert just after 3:15 a.m. Monday.

Tucker was arrested and taken into custody without incident. Both children were unharmed.

Tucker is facing child endangerment charges. She is being held in the Greene County jail.
