Five People Charged in 2014 Johnston Home Invasion

JOHNSTON, Iowa — One person is still at large, while five others have been charged in connection with a 2014 Johnston home invasion.

Johnston police said group carrying assault rifles and pistols, threatened nine people at a home in the 7300 block of Northwest 86th Street.

The incident happened on Sept. 25, 2014, at 1:34 a.m.  Police were called to the home on as robbery in progress.

Cash, cellphones and other valuables were stolen from the home.

Arthur Benson, 37, of Des Moines, McKenzie McCracken, 24, of Windsor Heights and Joseph Rendo, 35, of Altoona  are being held in the Polk County Jail. They are each charged with with nine counts of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree burglary.

David Moore, 22, of Ankeny, is also charged with first-degree burglary.

Police said they are looking for a sixth person, 32-year-old Jacari Benson.
