Iowa DOT to Auction Vehicles, Trailers, and More Saturday

AMES, Iowa – Nearly 50 vehicles and an assortment of shop and office items will be sold by the Iowa Department of Transportation at an auction on Saturday, June 6, starting at 9 a.m. in Ames.

The auction will be hosted in the DOT’s auction building, south of the main DOT center on South Fourth Street. Vehicles and equipment sold are from the Iowa DOT, Iowa State University, cities, and counties. Items are sold “as is” and without warranty. All known defects on items will be disclosed.

An Iowa DOT news release says vehicles to be sold include sedans, station wagons, vans, and minivans. A gator, two tractors, snowplows, mowers, and other equipment is also up for sale. Other items include over 40 laptops, cabinets, cameras, camcorders, and projection systems.

Auction items may be inspected from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the day before the sale, on Friday, June 5. The day of, inspections can be done between 7-9 a.m. The Iowa DOT asks you bring your driver’s license to issue a bid card, and a $200 deposit on all vehicles sold will be required if not paid in full on site.
