DES MOINES, Iowa -- This year marks the 40th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. The last two soldiers killed in Vietnam died on April 29, 1975. One of them was a man from Marshalltown, Darwin Judge.

More than 115,000 Iowans served during the Vietnam War. 867 Iowans died or disappeared during the war. Their names are etched on the Iowa Vietnam War monument on the grounds of the Iowa State Capitol.
