EVANSDALE, Iowa – A memorial for two Evansdale girls is almost complete.

The girls, Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook, were kidnapped while riding their bikes near Meyers Lake in July of 2012. Their bodies were found at a Bremer County Park five months later.

Volunteers have been working on their memorial at Angel's Park in Evansdale ever since. They've installed fountains, flower beds, and benches with pictures of the girls.

“I think just three years later that we got this many people out here to kick the park off and honor the girls is just amazing," Drew Collins said."It just shows you people are not going to give up on this case, people come up to me all of the time and just tell me ‘Hey we are not going to give up, don't give up Drew.’”

Police still receive a dozen tips every week about the case, and are always hoping the next tip that comes in will be the one that leads to an arrest.

"I wish I had a time frame. I wish I could tell you I could solve it tomorrow, but I can't," Jeff Jensen said.

There is a $150,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Call 319-232-6682 if you have information about this case.
