Urbandale Native Rachel Gowey Wins Gold on Uneven Bars at Pan Am Games

TORONTO, Canada – Urbandale native Rachel Gowey won the gold medal on uneven bars at the Pan American Games on Tuesday.

The Johnston High School senior was one of five American girls chosen to compete at the international event total, which are being held until July 26. Gowey is coached by Liang Chow of West Des Moines.

On Sunday, Gowey performed the same flawless routine as part of the team competition. She helped Team USA to its fourth straigh team Pan Am old medal.
