Body Recovered from Mississippi River in Clinton

CLINTON, Iowa – A body was recovered from the Mississippi River on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 1 p.m., personnel from the Clinton Police Department and Clinton Fire Department responded to a report of a body in the river.

Authorities utilized a rescue boat to retrieve the male body from the main channel of the river, just north of the Highway 30 Bridge, according to the Clinton Police Department.

The case remains under investigation and the victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
