PARKERSBURG, Iowa – A viral push to help reunite a RAGBRAI rider with his lost wedding ring is a success.

The Iowa State Patrol says through the help of social media, they’ve identified a man who lost his wedding ring Wednesday just outside of Parkersburg near the intersection of Highway 14 and Highway 57,

State Troopers helped him look for it for a while, but the rider had to take off to get to the next town.

Troopers discovered the titanium ring just before they left for their next stop but didn’t know who to return it to because the man didn’t leave his name.

Posts on Facebook and Twitter were shared in the hope that someone knew who the man was and it worked. Sgt. Nathan Ludwig with the Iowa State Patrol says a friend of a friend of a friend saw the post Friday and let them know the ring belonged to Danny Fultz.

The ring has now been returned to Fultz.
