AMES, Iowa – In their no-longer-way-too-early top 25 college basketball rankings, ESPN has slated Iowa State at No. 7.

The top 10 ranking comes with no surprise as the Cyclones will welcome back key players from last year’s 25-9 squad, including Georges Niang, Monte Morris and Jameel McKay.

The Maryland Terrapins took the No. 1 spot, while ISU’s Big 12 rival Kansas was ranked at No. 5.

Iowa State will prepare for the upcoming season by traveling to Spain on Aug. 10 to face some international competition. They’ll play against the Venezuelan National team on Aug. 12 in Madrid, the Valencia All Stars on Aug 14, and the Barcelona All Stars on Aug. 17 and Aug. 19.
