Two People Charged in Fort Dodge Walmart Robbery

FORT DODGE, Iowa –A man and a woman from Hamilton, Iowa, have been charged in a robbery that occurred at Walmart Tuesday.

At approximately 11:45 a.m., the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to a report of a theft at the Walmart located at 3036 1st Avenue. While responding, dispatchers told the officers that the suspects were a male and female. The male displayed a knife during the incident, according to the Fort Dodge Police Department.

Upon arrival, an officer stopped the female, 32-year-old Bobbi Spears. However, the male suspect, 34-year-old Justin Patton, fled the scene on foot. Authorities were ultimately able to apprehend Patton after a foot pursuit.

Patton, who was wanted on arrest warrants for a parole violation and attempted burglary, was charged with second-degree robbery. Spears was charged with fifth-degree theft, police say.
