Iowa Crop Condition Goes Down

Dry conditions last week allowed farmers nearly six days good for fieldwork, which was mainly fungicide and insecticide applications.
But reports of crop stress from dry weather also came in with the Iowa Crop Progress report.
Topsoil moisture is 86% adequate to surplus, down five percent from last week.
Around 74% of corn in Iowa reached the dough stage, with 14% up to the dent stage, about five days behind the five year average. Corn condition is at 82% good to excellent down a point from last week.
Soybeans are nearly all blooming now, 84% are setting pods, and some farmers report color changes already. Soybean conditions are rated 77% good to excellent down two points from last week.
