West Des Moines Police Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – The West Des Moines Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run which killed one man early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., officers responded to the 6400 block of Racoon River Drive and found a deceased male lying down on the road.

According to the West Des Moines Police Department, the investigation and initial autopsy results indicate the victim, 21-year-old Daulton Holly of Troy, Tennessee, was hit by a car.

On Monday, police released further information about a possible suspect vehicle as they continue to investigate. Authorities are searching for a dark colored, newer model, high profile vehicle. It could possibly be a truck or SUV, which likely has front end damage. The car will be missing plastic molding from the front end and undercarriage.

The case remains under investigation and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Polk County Crime Stoppers at 515-223-1400.
