DES MOINES, Iowa -- Iowa Department of Transportation officials have fixed an Interstate 235 sign that had a typo.

A week ago, a sign marking the exit ramp leading to the Des Moines International Airport was put up, but it had a mistake. The sign in the westbound lanes at Exit 7A read “DMS Airport” instead of “DSM Airport.”

Iowa DOT officials were notified of the mistake shortly after the sign was installed.

The misspelling was fixed Monday night into Tuesday morning.

The fix cost the DOT a little over $100.
