GRINNELL, Iowa -- It looks like a Grinnell man with a long violent history will be offered another plea deal after being charged with attempted murder twice in two years.

The alleged victim in the latest case says he was attacked by Larry Burnell last November after confronting Burnell about sexually harassing his girlfriend

"I took it upon myself to ask him to stay off our property. Stay from my partner and her two children." he told us,  "And as it turns out as I was returning to my house he struck me and crushed my skull."

We are not revealing the identity of the alleged victim because he says he is so terrified of Burnell.

"Back in 2012, Burnell was charged with attempted murder for running over his ex-wife’s boyfriend with a truck. He was given a plea deal then too. And his ex-wife says she stopped calling police after years of abuse because Burnell kept getting off with plea deals.  "Yes. He pled out every single time." Beate Burnell told us,  "He pretty much told me that he had a friend with a wood chipper and he was going to put me in the wood chipper and feed me to the pigs. In front of my children."

A plea hearing is set for this Tuesday and a sentencing date has already been set for later this month. We don’t yet know the terms of the plea offer so we don’t know how much time Burnell will spend in prison.
