GRIMES, Iowa -- Teen Challenge of the Midlands is seeing an increased demand for services in treating people with substance abuse problems.

The group has a major donor that is helping to open another men's treatment center in Ames sometime in 2016.

"The need is there, we hope to be able to meet that," said Michael Hunsberger, executive director of the Men's Treatment Center in Colfax.

"I would say the problem is growing, anywhere you look," said Hunsberger. "You look at different numbers with politicians, they say the number is getting smaller in their area, and I would say they just aren’t looking hard enough.”

The 18th Annual Teen Challenge Golf Marathon took place at Beaver Creek Golf Course on Monday.  This is  a major fund-raiser for the organization.  Also the group is known for taking vehicle donations, and selling the cars at auction, as another fund-raiser.
