FARRAR, Iowa - An ATV stolen from a family who has already lost so much has been returned.

The ATV held a special place in the Myers family's heart after Jacob Myers was killed in a car accident in August.

"We feel as though the memories of Jacob have been taken, and not necessarily an old four-wheeler that no one would want," Sarah Myers told Channel 13's Reid Chandler.

Jacob Myers was teaching his oldest son, seven-year-old Paden, to ride this summer. It was something these kids enjoyed riding on with their dad.

Myers said her family was storing the yellow Honda Foreman ES four-wheeler in a barn about a mile south of their home in Maxwell. About a week ago, it was discovered stolen, but the family friend keeping watch over the property for the Myers' hoped he could locate it before sending them into a panic. Tuesday night, he notified Myers of the loss, which prompted her to send out a desperate plea for help via social media.

On Thursday morning, the ATV was returned to the family. The ATV was found near a church in Farrar. Sarah Myer's said the ATV was found between the church and a row of trees.
