Storms Slated to Move Across Iowa Thursday, Friday

DES MOINES, Iowa — Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move across parts of the state early and late Thursday. The best chance for pockets of heavy rainfall and strong winds exists before 9:00 a.m. and after 5 p.m.

It is transition Thursday. Friday will be much cooler and wet at times. There is a chance for severe storms in eastern Iowa Thursday and southern Iowa Friday.

Some of the heaviest rain will fall around noon on Friday. 1-3” of rain will be possible with this storm system.

The weekend still looks to be dry and fall-like with mainly sunny skies and highs in the 70s.
