DES MOINES, Iowa – The Wounded Warrior Amputee team faced off against the Des Moines Celebrity team on Sunday at Principal Park.

Almost 20 Wounded Warrior teams travel across the country in total, and play to raise awareness about disabled veterans.

They participate in games despite losing limbs while fighting for their country.

"Just make them feel special and show them you might have a little disability, but you're able to come back from it and live life,” Manager Bucky Weaver said. “Come back, play ball and have a good life."
