NORMAL, IL –  Illinois State won a top 10 FCS showdown beating UNI 21-13 on Saturday.

The 4th ranked Redbirds jumped out to a 14-0 lead before the 7th ranked Panthers got on the board.  Former Hawkeye Michael Malloy caught a 45 yard TD pass to cut the deficit to 14-7.

But the UNI offense was shut down after that, only registering 2 field goals the rest of the game.

UNI drops to 2-2 on the season and it doesn’t get any easier, next week the Panthers travel to #3 North Dakota State.
