ANKENY, Iowa — Firefighters in the metro are showing off their softer side.

Tuesday morning, Ankeny firefighters took some time off from saving lives, to teach kids what they do. Two firefighters were on hand while about thirty kids listened to a book at the Kirkendall Library.

The event was held as part of Fire Prevention Week.

A fire engine from the department even made an appearance outside the building for kids to see.
