DES MOINES, Iowa -- A disgraced former Des Moines police officer is now facing criminal charges, accused of stealing from other cops.   "As we conducted the investigation into what we thought was some missing funds, we found that there had in fact been tens of thousands of dollars that were missing." Des Moines Police Sergeant Paul Parizek said, "The investigation led to Tarry Pote"

Pote resigned in January after police say he was caught peeping on a female officer showering in the police gym. Now investigators say Pote was stealing from the gym, which is run by police officers, for some time.   "A period of several years." Sgt. Parizek said, "The misappropriation of the funds did take place while he was an employee here. The actual theft was not discovered until he had left employment here."

Pote was also disciplined in 2014 when he was teaching at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with a recruit.
