URBANDALE, Iowa--A Central Iowa man got a special birthday message from the man he hopes is the next President of the United States.

Justin Luettjohann of Urbandale got a video message from Dr. Ben Carson this week saying, "Hey Justin, I'm here in New York City wishing you a very happy birthday and thanks for all your support."

Luettjohann says the video was a surprise gift from his wife.

"When I got the video, I didn't expect anything like that and I seriously about fell out of my chair and I couldn't stop smiling."

Luettjohann and his wife have attended several events with Carson and even hosted a meet and greet at their home with him before he announced he was running.

Luettjohann says Carson taking the time to send a personal video is a testament to the kind of man Carson is.

"He's extremely relatable.  If people stop and listen to his story, he grew up from poverty and created himself and I think a lot of people can resonate with that the hard work and determination to become something."

Carson will be back in Iowa campaigning this weekend.

The AGR Fraternity House at Iowa State University is hosting Carson for a town hall breakfast.

The event kicks off at 8:00 a.m. and is open to the public.
