OTTUMWA, Iowa – Police in Ottumwa have canceled an Amber Alert for a missing 13-year-old girl, declaring she has been found safe.

Police issued an Amber Alert at approximately 3:30 p.m. for Paige Janet Johnstone of Ottumwa after she was found safe in Georgia. Police believed Johnstone was heading to Fort Pierce, Fla., with Kevin Ariel Toala Ramirez, 19.

Authorities say officers in Georgia located Ramirez’s truck and conducted a traffic stop. Johnstone was found safe inside the vehicle.

Ramirez was arrested and charged with child stealing, a Class C felony, and enticing a minor, a Class D felony.

The investigation is ongoing.
