DES MOINES, Iowa -- This weekend lines stretched out the door at Barnes and Noble in West Des Moines as Ben Carson signed copies of his new book.

A new poll shows the lines of his supporters could be just as long at caucus sites in February. Carson has been climbing in the polls for weeks, but in the last week he's done some pole vaulting.

Last week two separate polls showed Ben Carson had overtaken Donald Trump as the favorite Republican to win the Iowa Caucuses in February. Now it appears his lead is growing, and quickly.

On Thursday Quinnipiac University’s poll gave Carson an eight-point lead over Trump. Then on Friday the Des Moines Register added another point, giving Carson a nine-point lead.

Tuesday’s Monmouth University poll shows Carson now has a double digit lead in Iowa. The poll says Carson has the support of nearly a third of Iowans, while Trump is now 14-points behind him.

It’s been a monumental shift in the GOP race in the last week. With the caucuses still 97 days away it appears nothing has been settled on the Republican side of the ticket.
