Ames Public Sculpture Exhibition Names “Best of Show”

AMES, Iowa- The Ames Public Art Commission has selected a Best of Show from this year’s art exhibition in downtown Ames. “Spring Awakening,” by Dale Rogers of Haverhill, Mass received the most votes. Rogers will receive a $500 award.

This is the 19th year for Ames’ Annual Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition. The Public Art Commission was established in 1990 by the Mayor and City Council. Pieces from this year’s show will be on display until May of 2016.

Residents of Ames may apply to have one of the art pieces installed in a public area in a neighborhood. That could include a park or cul-de-sac. Applications from neighborhoods are due by December 15th.

This year 450 total votes were cast for the “Best in Show”
