DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa’s unemployment rate for October dipped slightly.

Iowa Workforce Development released its latest numbers Friday, showing October’s rate dropped a tenth of a percent to 3.5-percent from September’s rate of 3.6-percent.

“Iowa’s economy continues to improve,” says head of the IWD Beth Townsend. “Total nonfarm employment added jobs for the second consecutive month, and the number of unemployed Iowans continued to trend down.”

The U.S. unemployment rate was 5-percent in October.
