DES MOINES, Iowa -- Family and friends are remembering two men killed in a car crash last week.

They gathered for a candle light vigil near Hubbell Avenue Sunday night.

That's where 60-year-old Richard Hummel and 59-year-old Randall Sonnenburg died when their car was hit by another vehicle.

Police say Hummel had just dropped off his grandchildren at church when Deanna Gliem, who was likely speeding, smashed into his vehicle killing the two men.

"It's been really emotional....this week has been like a roller coaster. It's really hard to believe at the same time deal with the reality of it, so it's been tough,” says Misty Martin, Richard Hummel’s daughter.
