While many Iowans woke up Monday to the same rainy conditions they fell asleep to, areas west of the metro woke up to a few inches of snow.

The National Weather Service reports areas like Adair, Casey and Atlantic reported between 1 and 2 inches of snow Monday morning.

In the metro, temperatures will stay in the upper 30s throughout the day Monday as the precipitation lets up, and temps will drop below freezing overnight.

We’ll have a short break from the wet weather Tuesday, but a another system is expected to dump more rain and possibly light snow across the state Tuesday night.
