Hunter Finds Body in Wooded Area near Oskaloosa

OSKALOOSA, Iowa —  Mahaska County officials say a hunter reported finding a body in a wooded area Wednesday.

The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office says caller reported finding the body about 3:30 p.m. while deer hunting in a small wooded area north of Oskaloosa.

The body was transported to the Iowa Medical Examiner’s Office in Des Moines to be identified.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office and Oskaloosa Police Department in the investigation.
