CARROLL, Iowa- An agency known for caring for others in the community, may need the community’s help. Carroll County Community of Concern is an agency which helps people,  recently learned they would need to find a new home. The current owners want to tear down their building they now occupy.

The agency operates a food pantry serving over 856 families per year. People come in on a need-basic to pick up groceries, or get help issues where there is no government program to help. It currently pays $300 a month in rent. So far they have found nothing even close to that price in town. They’ve found a place for $850, and others that would rent in the thousands.

The current land lord has erected a new building next door, and wants to tear down the building now housing the food bank. The owners have indicated they hope the Community of Concern could be out by March. The agency has reached out to the Carroll County Supervisors, and has gotten an offer of assistance for the move, assuming new quarters can be found.
