MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa -- A Marshalltown woman received a gift she has waited for the last 82 years.
100-year-old Inez Duft was awarded a Diploma of Accomplishment from the Marshalltown School District on Saturday.
Duft would have graduated in 1933, but stopped attending school after the eighth grade to help take care of her nine younger siblings. She says not graduating from high school was the biggest regret of her life.
Duft is currently in a hospice care center in Marshalltown. Her family says this day will always be to remembered and the award was a dream come true.
