DES MOINES, Iowa – It was one week ago Saturday when a Des Moines teenager went missing in Granger.

After 17-year-old Sam Kemp was later found dead in a pond in Granger on Thursday, family and friends are remembering him Saturday night.

Witnesses and police say Kemp was last seen at a massive house party on Dec. 12, running from police. An autopsy is currently underway to determine his cause of death, and more information is expected to be released next week.

Those closest to Kemp are still coming to terms with his death, and dozens gathered to remember the junior at Scavo High School who loved his friends, family and rap music.

"Now that we`ve found him, and we were all out there at the pond, now it`s time to find out what really happened to him," said Kemp's aunt, Lisa Jones. "We just want anybody that knows any information that was at that party, please come forward."

If you would like to help, a memorial fund for Kemp is now in place.
