There's a new cooperative in Iowa.

The members of Farmers Cooperative Company and West Central Cooperative voted an approval for a merger effective April 1st.

The unified cooperative will be called Landus Cooperative and will be led by the West Central President Milan Kucerak and headquartered in Ames.

Together, West Central and FC have more than 70 grain, agronomy, and feed locations in 26 Iowa counties.

According to World Grain magazine's Grain and Milling Annual, Landus Coop will become the seventh largest grain company in North America based on storage capacity. It will also have access to all seven major Iowa rail lines.
