Man Killed after Colliding into Semi on Highway 146

GRINNELL, Iowa — A Tama man was killed Tuesday in a crash on Highway 146.

An Iowa State Patrol crash report says 45-year-old James Joseph Harris was driving northbound in the 3400 block of Highway 146, north of Grinnell, when he crossed the center line and struck a semi. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are unsure at this time why Harris crossed into the southbound lane.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

Harris’ body was transported to the state medical examiner in Ankeny.
