POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY, Iowa — The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office is looking into an apparent case of road rage in western Iowa on I-80.

It happened near the 24 mile marker in the eastbound lanes around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday. Officials say 20-year-old Tyler Carfora called 911 claiming a man in another car shot at her vehicle, striking the passenger side rear tire.

When deputies arrived they found damage to the tire consistent with a gunshot.

Carfora told deputies described the suspect as a white male in his 20s, driving a gray car with Wisconsin license plates, stickers on the back of the car, and blankets in the rear window. Deputies were not able to locate him and said they believe it was an isolated incident.

The investigation into the case continues.
