DES MOINES, Iowa – For Hawkeye fans that were trying to travel on Monday to California for the Rose Bowl, it wasn’t easy due to the weather.

There were a number of delays and cancellations because this particular snow storm is a large system affecting connecting flights and many airports.

For some Hawkeye fans hoping to head out to the Rose Bowl, they received some very disappointing news on Monday.

"We were just waiting for our flight to leave at 3:15 p.m. and it got cancelled," Hawkeye fan Mike Helling said. "First it was delayed and then it was cancelled. Then we came down to American and they don't have any flights until Friday. That's the earliest flight that they had that we could get on.”
