Kirk Ferentz Awarded 2015 Bobby Dodd Trophy
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz has yet another accolade to add to his collection.
It was announced Wednesday that Ferentz has been named the recipient of the 2015 Dodd Trophy, which is awarded to head football coaches whose program embodies the high standards on and off the field.
“His success on and off the field this season made our decision an easy one. He represents the pinnacle of coaching achievement and loyalty and has built a program that is admired by many throughout the country,” said Jim Terry, chairman of the Dodd Foundation.
The Dodd Trophy has been called “college football’s most coveted coaching award.”
“I am honored to share this recognition with our staff, our players and our great fans and I am grateful to the University of Iowa for providing the necessary support for our success,” Ferentz said.
In addition to the Dodd Trophy, Ferentz has also been named the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year, the Woody Hayes Coach of the Year and the American Football Coaches Association Region 3 Coach of the Year.
