DES MOINES, Iowa — A brief chase ended with an arrest during the Tuesday evening rush hour.

Des Moines police say officers attempted to stop a vehicle near Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and 19th Street when the driver took off, driving across a grassy area and back onto MLK Parkway.

The driver led police on a short chase northbound on MLK until he hit a snowbank and got out of his vehicle near Smokey Row Coffee Co. Officers say the man led officers on a brief foot chase before being apprehended.

Officers searched the vehicle after the man’s arrest.

Police have not released the driver’s name or what charges, if any, will be filed.
