Four Arrested in Kidnapping, Assault Incident in Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE, Iowa -- Two juveniles and two adults have been arrested in relation to a kidnapping case in Fort Dodge.

The incident was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. Thursday. A juvenile contacted police claiming he’d been assaulted and had damage done to his vehicle. The victim told police the suspects forced him into his car at gunpoint in the 600 block of N 23rd St. and made him drive to Oleson Park.

When they arrived at the park the victim said he was assaulted and the suspects damaged his vehicle. They left the area and the victim went to a nearby home to call police.

Police say there was another victim in the car and after interviewing both victims they were able to identify some of the suspects in the assault, and served a search warrant in connection with the case at 642 N 23rd St. During the search several drug-related items were located.

Police have not released the names of the juveniles but say a 15-year-old male is charged with two counts of second degree kidnapping and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. A 17-year-old male is also charged with third degree criminal mischief and serious assault. The juveniles have been transferred to the Eldora State Training School for Boys.

Two Fort Dodge men were also arrested in the case. Nineteen-year-old Dakota Marnach and 18-year-old Ricki Riley are both charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
