DES MOINES, Iowa -- It’s a whole lot of bull this weekend as the World’s Toughest Rodeo National Tour returns to Des Moines’ Wells Fargo Arena.

“We have a whole different concept of what a rodeo is,” says Marla Morehead, co-owner of World’s Toughest Rodeo. “We are selling fun in our rodeo package. No one go homes unhappy.”

The rodeo features the fan’s favorite events like bull riding and saddle bronco riding.

But what brings the crowd is Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey.

“People will be lined up to see this guy,” said Kenny Petet, trainer. “He loves the big crowds. He is a performer just like the cowboys here.”

The Midwest’s fastest cowgirls will also compete in the Women’s Barrel Racing. Along with intense competitions throughout the night, fans will witness Mutton Bustin’ for the little kids.

Another reason this rodeo is unique is that it offers a taste of Iowa.

“We are from Bernard, Iowa,” says Morehead. “We love to be close to home. We have a big following in the Iowa.”

Morehead hopes that exposing kids to the rodeo will spike an interest in livestock.

“People are away from live stock now. That is why we started this,” said Morehead, “Kids aren’t as close to agriculture like they used to.
