DES MOINES, Iowa — People in Des Moines have already heard from the presidential candidates more than anyone else in the country.
According to The Hill, candidates or a super-PAC have run nearly 13,000 campaign ads just in the Des Moines market. That comes to $6.5 million in advertising.
Senator Marco Rubio leads all of them. His campaign and super-PACs have spent nearly $2 million on 3,400 ads. It’s a much higher number compared to Donald Trump’s 828 ads and Ted Cruz’s 737.
Vermont senator Bernie Sanders is ahead in the advertising race for the Democrats. He’s spent $600,000 on 1,800 ads, while Clinton has spent $520,000 on nearly 1,700.
