DES MOINES, Iowa -- An iconic broadcaster entertained the crowd at Monday night’s annual dinner for the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

In a one-on-one interview with Channel 13, Tom Brokaw said he wants people to understand why our political system seems to be in disarray.

“I’ve been thinking about that a lot more.  And I think my one little hint is it began with 9/11. There was a succession of events after that that separated people from what their expectations about America were,” Brokaw said.

Tune into Channel 13 News at 10 on Tuesday for Dan Winters’ in-depth interview with the legendary anchor.

Brokaw spoke about the impact cancer has had on the way he approaches the news, his idea for getting rid of Iowa’s first-in-the-nation status and his one word to describe this presidential election cycle.
