GRIMES - Tony Watson is the best baseball player to ever play at DCG, Friday night his alma mater honored him.

Dallas Center-Grimes retired Watson's #4 jersey during the basketball games.

Watson played college baseball at Nebraska before being drafted in 2007 in the 9th round.  He made his major league debut in 2011 before having a breakout season in 2014 when he was named an All-Star with the Pirates.

Watson recently signed a 1 year extension with Pittsburgh worth 3.45 million dollars.
